A Strong H for a Strong Region
A characteristic H is the core symbol of the visual identity of the Capital Region of Denmark. The H is the logo for the region itself as well as the region's hospitals and other social
institutions.
e-Types was chosen to develop the new design among four other proposals - all part of a competition to design the visual identity for the new Region.

Besides the characteristic H, the visual identity for The Capital Region of Denmark consists of a custom made typography and a colour palette: dark blue, light blue, green and red.

"The design reflects our ambitions and strategy for the region. Our goal is to create the best possible foundation for our health care system where our focal point is quality, user- and employee satisfaction".
e-Types Managing Director Søren Skafte Overgaard has been responsible for the project:
"The idea was to see The Capital Region of Denmark as a frame for development, dynamics and initiative. This is why the logo is a strong and precise H - the frame - and within the frame there is room for a dynamic use of colours and photography. Making it possible to achieve reconcilability and variation at the same time".
The development of the visual identity is scheduled for the next six months as a cooperation between The Capital Region of Denmark and e-Types A/S. The visual identity was launched in the summer of 2006. Since then the identity has been rolled out onto a long range of elements for use in the Region's administration as well as all hospitals in the Region.
Web design
e-Types has also created the web design for the Capital Region's main page as well as the websites of all the hopitals in the capital regions. The technical implementation has been
carried out by the Region in cooperation with netcompany.

Signage
In 2007-2008 e-Types has developed an extensive signage program for exterior signage. The signage system is designed to make the hopitals of the region easy to navigate, harmonizing the diverse signage programmes in order to help the many patients that go to several hospitals. Finally the signage concept reflects the ambitions of professionalism and 24 hour alertness that characterizes the aspirations of the Danish health care sector.
The implementation and further development of the signage will take place in the years 2008-2010. Hillerød Hospital will be the first hospital and works as a pilot project for the new signage concept.
